Company History
Danang Enterprises was established in November 1990 with
a single product: custom engraved POW-MIA bracelets. Initially,
more time was expended upon issue advocacy than product manufacture.
From this beginning, when we had total first month sales of
(78) bracelets engraved with a manual engraver located within
the NCO housing complex at Ft. Devens, things changed very
rapidly.
On January 16, 1991, Michael Speicher was shot
down over Iraq during the initial airstrikes of Operation
Desert Storm, becoming the first of many POW-MIA'S of that
War. As Geoffrey Zaun's bruised face appeared on the front
cover of National publications and Americans became aware
of Melissa Rathbun's internment by the Iraqis, Danang was
suddenly propelled onto the National Map, unable to keep up
with demand. Our single manual engraver produced a daily output
of (500) bracelets a day on round-the-clock shifts assisted
by the 10th Special Forces Group before deployment.
From those beginnings, Danang has grown into a full-service
supplier and mail-order distributor.
So, welcome to Danang Online, we hope you enjoy our site,
and will bookmark it so that you might return. We look forward
to your requests, ideas, and suggestions.
